My Week in Pictures (and some words)

Remember that time I got a job? I just finished week two, and it's been a good combination of stressful, busy, and awesome. I feel so good about my choices - to quit my old job in mid-summer, to take some time off before finding a new one... and to be picky in my job search, to find a company that is very me. (and, of course, I'm very fortunate to have ended up in a field where I can afford to be picky and still find work!)

Adjusting to work and to a new commute has certainly tired me out and kept me busy this week, but only in the best ways possible. I'm still getting used to things, but all signs point to this being such a great fit for me, different from my old job in all the right ways.

I did manage to snap a few photos throughout the week, mostly on my phone's extremely crappy camera.

Early mornings:

knitting on Caltrain
fog and fall leaves on my bike ride to the train
Sitting on the floor of the bike car when the train was overly full / foggy, chilly morning and fogged up glasses

A catering gig:
I baked a cake for a friend who was hosting a party for another friend. Kinda like real catering!
This is the practice run, kinda thrown together, but the final one looked a bit nicer.
panda macarons
Random little things that make life nice:

icy blue nails / surprisingly good eggnog almonds

And a few shots from around the office (and off-site lunch):
the first thing I see when I get to the office. I love it.
Friday lunch with the analysis team - French Kiss (strong but yummy) and thai peanut noodles
Friday festivities at the office included lots of sparkles, noisemakers, dressed up dogs, and champagne!

  2. I'm hoping to get a little point and shoot that I can carry around and take pictures of day to day life more often... In the meantime, I'll try to share more via my phone's camera!
